riize Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 18, 2026

riize is an iPhone app that helps you learn to use AI by practicing. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, who else handles it, and what you can do about it. riize is run by Dmytro Zhornyk ("we", "us"). You can reach us at the address in Contact us.

The short version

What we collect

Your account

The first time you open the app, it creates an account for you. The account is a random number, not your name. The app keeps a sign-in key on your phone, in Apple's secure Keychain. We store only a scrambled (hashed) copy of that key.

To check that new accounts come from the real riize app on a real iPhone or iPad, the app asks Apple to vouch for it when it creates your account (Apple calls this App Attest). We keep the key that Apple vouched for, and Apple's confirmation, with your account. They don't identify your device or your Apple Account.

Your invite code

While riize is open to invited people only, we keep the invite code you entered and when you entered it, so the lessons work for you and we can see how many people each code brought in.

Your answers when you start

What you do (for example, "I run my own business"), your line of work if you share it, how much you have used AI, and what you would like AI to help with. We use these to pick your starting lessons and examples.

What you write in lessons

Before anything else sees your text, the app's server replaces card numbers, bank account numbers, passwords, email addresses, phone numbers and ID numbers with a note such as "[PHONE NUMBER REMOVED]". It recognizes phone numbers written the US way, with a country code (such as +49), or the way Germany, Ukraine and Mexico write them at home; US Social Security numbers; and tax, social insurance, ID card and passport numbers from Germany, Ukraine and Mexico, and other countries' when you name them ("my passport number is …"). Only the cleaned text is sent to the AI or saved. No check catches everything, so please don't type ID or phone numbers anyway, or other private details, such as health information or someone else's personal information. You can make details up; the lessons work just as well.

Before your first lesson, the app asks whether you agree to send what you write to the AI services named below. Nothing you write goes to an AI until you agree. If the services that receive your messages change, the app asks you again.

Your progress

Lessons you start and finish, how each of your skills is coming along, the days you practice, your streak, milestones you earn, and whether you rated the coach's feedback as helpful or not.

Your time zone

So that a day of practice counts on the right day where you live.

Sign in with Apple or Google (optional)

If you choose "Save my progress", we keep only the account ID that Apple or Google gives us, so you can get your progress back on a new phone. We don't ask Apple or Google for your name, email address or photo. For Apple, we also keep a token that lets us remove riize's access to your Apple account when you delete your riize account.

Your subscription

If you subscribe, we learn from our payment provider whether your subscription is active, which plan it is, whether it is a free trial, and when it renews or ends. Payment is handled by Apple. We never see your card or bank details.

How you use the app

We record events such as "lesson finished" or "paywall shown", with your account number, the screen, and simple values like which lesson it was. These events never include what you wrote or the AI's answers.

Technical information

Like any website or app server, ours sees your device's IP address when the app connects. We use it only for a moment, to limit how many new accounts can be created from one network, and we don't store it. Our server keeps short technical logs and measurements (for example, which request failed and how long the AI took). These contain account and request numbers, never your messages, and are deleted after 30 days.

What stays on your phone

Your first name if you give it, your reminder time, and drafts of messages you haven't sent yet stay on your phone and are never sent to us. Practice reminders are scheduled by your phone; we don't send push notifications.

How we use your information

We don't sell your information. We don't use it for advertising, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Who else handles your information

We use a few service providers to run riize. They handle your information on our behalf, only for the purposes below.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety or our rights, or as part of a sale or merger of riize, in which case this policy would continue to apply.

Some of these providers are outside the country where you live, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on the safeguards these providers offer for international transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Your choices and rights

If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you also have the right to object to or limit how we use your information, to move it to another service, and to complain to your data protection authority. We use your information because we need it to provide the app you asked for, because of our legitimate interest in keeping riize safe and improving it, and, for sending what you write to AI services and for reminders, because you agreed. You can take back that agreement at any time, as described above.

If you live in a US state with a privacy law, such as California, you have the right to know what we collect, to see it, to correct it and to delete it, and we won't treat you differently for using these rights. We don't sell your information or share it for targeted advertising.

Children

riize is made for adults. It isn't meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has used riize, contact us and we will delete the account.

How we protect it

The app talks to our server only over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Sign-in keys are stored scrambled, private details are removed from what you write before it is saved, and only the people who run riize can reach the server and its data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is important, we will also tell you in the app before it applies.
